Capability does not automatically mean readiness.

Spiritual gifting, leadership ability, influence, knowledge, creativity, and opportunity can all be real while the character beneath them is still being developed. God is not only concerned with whether we are capable of carrying an assignment. He is concerned with whether our internal structure can safely support the responsibility that comes with it.

A gift can open a door, but character determines what happens after you walk through it. More influence does not automatically remove insecurity. More authority does not automatically create humility. Greater visibility does not manufacture integrity. If the internal frame is unstable, adding greater mission load can magnify weaknesses that were already present.

That is why God’s preparation can sometimes feel slower than our ambition.
